Jackie In

Jackie and Raven were calling to each other this morning so once the walk was over she was taken out and brought over to him and yes she was in. This cover was a little tricky, Jackie doesn't tie which if there are 2 people it is easy but with only me working there was some juggling to do to get the job accomplished. Jackie stood very well which made it all a little easier.
Ylse and Samantha need a new round bale, I squared baled them this morning then gave them some grain. Big Sally came running over to get some also. Bunni was back behind the pond grazing, I could see she was still big so didn't tromp through the mud to check her. All the other mares were easy to check. Velvet is HUGE, Jenis and Autumn take the best spots and were lying down in the shelter, Ribbon was standing at Big Sally's gate looking longingly at her round bale. We are keeping Duke in Sally's paddock, the only one secure enough to keep the little Houdini in. Once over to the cabin I noticed Evan and Wynne had their halters off. Hoping Mike took them off and put them away we put them on for the video and should have removed them, they are the 'good' halters and were only to be used for shows but we are so short of halters and for the video we wanted them to look nice. Diane has someone staying in the cabin for a couple of days so I didn't go in to look.
Rachel took this picture of an eagle flying over the farm pond. I actually saw 2 eagles there and was hoping they would nest but they flew away and haven't been seen since.
Monica Fritzenmeier took a trip to MI yesterday and brought home a very special purebred Friesian filly.
Her name is Danika and her sire is the TALL approved stallion Nanning. Danika has fantastic papers, the mares in the pedigree are Star or Model save one. Monica plans on breeding her to Raven in a couple of years. Monica's mom told me when Monica was looking for a filly she was talking to a lot of Friesian people. When she mentioned she wanted to breed to Raven they told her she wouldn't go wrong. Raven has the reputation, even in the Friesian world, of throwing very correct foals with wonderful dispositions.
THAT MADE MY DAY, no WEEK, no YEAR!!!
